What are masters welcoming weeks? 

The Masters’ Welcoming Weeks 2024 (MWW) is a 3-week welcoming programme for newly admitted masters’ students at Stockholm Business School (SBS) and the Economics Department.

It’s held every fall semester at the start of the masters’ programmes. The MWW is an opportunity for new masters’ students to meet fellow students, create friendships, explore the campus and city, and get to meet future employers.

The Masters’ Club holds events for masters’s students that focus on creating fun and career-focused activities. Make new friends, network with future employers and get the most out of your masters’ in Stockholm!

Introduction Day and Mingle (September 2nd, Aula Magna & Frescati Campus):

Your
journey at Stockholm Business School (SBS) kicks off with a grand introduction at Aula Magna, where both bachelor’s and master’s students will gather to learn about their programs and the vibrant student life at SBS. After the formal presentations, master’s students will have a special opportunity to mingle outside, engaging in fun games like Kubb, aimed at breaking the ice and fostering new friendships. The day will also include goodie bags filled with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Later, the fun continues at a local bar, providing a relaxed seeing to further connect with your peers.

Campus Tour and Picnic (September 3rd, Albano & Frescati Campuses):

Get acquainted with your new academic environment through a guided tour of the Albano and Frescati campuses. You’ll explore essential spots like the library, student help centres, and other key facilities that will be integral to your time at SBS. Following the tour, you have the choice to either continue exploring the Frescati campus or unwind with a picturesque picnic by the serene Brunnsviken lake, making it a perfect day to soak in the atmosphere and meet fellow students.

Hot Dog Event (September 5th, Brunnsviken):

Join your classmates for a casual and laid-back afternoon by the beautiful Brunnsviken lake, where free hotdogs and outdoor games like Kubb will set the tone for a fun and friendly gathering. With Magna DJs providing the soundtrack to this relaxed event, it’s the perfect chance to meet new people, chat with friends, and enjoy the scenic surroundings.

Lunch Lecture (September 6th, Albano Campus):

Teams will navigate the city using public transportation, following clues to track down “Mr X” before time runs out. This event is not only a fun challenge but also a great way to explore the city and build camaraderie with your classmates.

Showcase your problem solving skills at the Masters Case Night, hosted by PWC. The evening begins with an introduction to PwC’s work, followed by speed dating sessions with their representatives. You’ll then dive into a case-solving workshop designed to sharpen your analytical skills, crucial for future recruitment processes. The night concludes with dinner and open-ended mingle, providing ample time to network and reflect on the challenges of the evening.
